Taste Strips

This is the general taste strips page with all taste tests that we have available. These small, cellulose paper strips are infused with specific taste stimuli such as sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami and capsaicin. You can use the taste strips kit to evaluate different aspects of taste perception.

The strips can be divided into the following categories:

Burghart ODOFIN taste strips

• sweet, sour, bitter and salty: 4 x 25 strips in the highest concentration
• sweet, sour, bitter, salty and control strips: 19 x 50 taste strips in 4 different concentrations plus control strips.
• umami: 4 x 50 umami strips in 4 different concentrations
• blank taste strips: 50 strips

Sensonics taste strips

• PROP taste strips / PTC taste strips / Combi set. With these strips you can identify tasters and non-tasters, the strips are ideal for research studies and for demonstrations in the classroom.
• The WETT kit. This test consists of 5 different tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami
